First of all I want to apologise for the poor quality of this invite. I recognise this, it is lame and it was coded in about an hour so feel free to critique the invite for this, I just have a lot of things to code at the moment. No time to do a good job on all, what more to say?

The compo will be cool though, there are amazon vouchers offered as prizes, members of this community are eligible to enter, entries must be submitted to www.dbfinteractive.com
The competition will be launched on 24/02/07.

You may submit any discipline of production to the comp, but it must last no longer than 20 seconds.

Detailed rules will be posted on the dbf/gvy forum some time on the 24/02/07.

Hope that if you are a coder you'll give it a try! Use any language as long as it runs on a win32 pc. It would be good to get some entries in Cobra!!! Cheers and good luck!

Here is the invite;

FILE HERE (ABOUT 30KB)

Hope to see some of you there Smiley Good luck!

Many thanks to Grahamk for allowing me to post this comp and offer it to you all.

Compete with novices, experienced coders and hardened demo sceners alike!!!

Thanks guys Smiley

The last challenge ended up with 23 entries, there were not even any prizes on offer that time.
There is already a lot of interest so let's hope that this goes as well as the last one!

Judging by the quality of the examples that you make in a short time Graham, I'd think you would have a good chance of getting an entry into the top 3 with the right sort of production. Members of my place are suckers for oldschool, even if some of them are pusing the limits with newschool stuff with shaders etc.. Oldschool always goes down well.

Dust off them plasma tunnels!!! Smiley

He he,
I'm half tempted to not release tonights patch, so I'm the only one with access to the new features Cheesy

I've actually made a basic start, I really like the 20 second theme, It's going to be interesting seeing what I can cram into that short time.

Hi Rob Smiley I wish I'd had more time to make the invitation to be honest.. My next demo will be better.

This is written in a combination of FB + ASM. It's relevant as the first thing I am going to attempt in Cobra will be the background of this intro..

The intro is unfinished at the moment, hopefully I shall start on the Cobra version in a couple of weeks as I need a subject to write my first tutorials on.

Hope you have a go at the compo! Oh, and are you converting any of your BB games (DEFENDER - Hint!) To Cobra?

Yeah, Rob's Defender clone (Defensor) was very cool.  Even better if an artist like Filax did the graphics!  Cheesy

Probably about half way through my entry... Cheesy

Not sure if I'm very happy with it at the moment, but still some time for polish.

Ah, music.... doh.... Now anyone know any good free tracker sites Wink

Right now, I wish I could clone myself - no time to do anything fun... Sad  I would love to see a version of Defender written in Cobra though (where's Filax?), but certainly not by me!

I look forward to trying out the competition entries, Shockwave - demos are always fun to run, listen, and watch!

lol, baaaa-d puns there Wink

Sadly a lot of ripped media there, so I've got to get someone to redraw it before I can release it Sad

It's a fun little project running in Cobra2D, nice diversion I pick up now and again..
