The first week of 2007 is drawing to a close, so I think it's appropriate time to ask when we will be able to actually purchase the full version. I know there are still some issues with the demo but as I said before. I'd be quite happy to purchase the full version now and get the updates as they come. Any news on the sale start, Graham? I've been hassling Graham for a while about this - perhaps he'll do it by the weekend to keep us quiet.

Sorry won't be the weekend Not because of bugs or that side of things, it's just that Cobra (and other products) are going to be sold as products of 'squeakyduck', and this being the first time I've set up a company from scratch, I've made a couple of mistakes, which I need business advice on (tax things mainly, blurgh). I know I should have resolved these earlier, but it only came to light when I did my final checks Luckily I know more about coding than business

Luckily I know more about coding than business You are not the only one. We've all been through similar problems when entering the big, wild and generally not very friendly world of taxation and bureaucracy in general. Barney

It would be nice to get hold of the full version, mainly becuase I dont like the fact the demo interrupts every few minutes with that message box. This makes using any utilities (eg. map editors) rather annoying . Also I really dont dig the borderless window in the middle of my desktop (I'm hoping windowed mode will have a nice standard windows border). I'm currently writing a nice little puzzle game in Cobra just to get the gist of it all

The business side of things holding you up - that's understandable.
In that case any chance of updating the demo to allow full-screen? Besides, I think that would give a better impression of Cobra than the current odd window you get at the moment.

Not really, as it always drops to window mode when in debug mode (so you can see the debug window). I may give it a window border though

Hi!
A bordered window in debug mode would be a little bit better.
But the only meaningfully change is to allow to switch off the debugger (in demo). This would really give a much better impression of performance. IMHO this would be extremly necessary to attract more people/users/costumers.
In current demo you can run programs with -permantly debugger (slow) -windowed mode (small) -frequently popup messages 'compiled... -maximum of 5 minutes -watermark
These all together could deter a lot of people/users/costumers, because it gives a 'not so good' impression.
Greetings stef

debug is one which won't be changing in the demo.. Without it there would be quite a few ways that it could be hacked to create real exe's..
I may remove the popups though. The problem is the same as when blitz was originally released.. Lots of people just used the demo (and still do), without purchasing.

Removing the pop-ups is a good compromise - there are enough restrictions already.

Yes, but Blitz was successfully! Blitz has a lot of users! Maybe you can post some real exe's and screenshots of cobraprograms (2D and 3D) (like the 'bubbles'-game or the 3D-demo (with FPS 232 )

How about a Showcase for the website then? After the full version's out other users can also add to it.

There is, all registered owners have access to upload source/demo's, as well as screenshots.
In addition, people who go for the pro licence get access to the fault tracking system, pre-release, and tool download areas.
All benefits for those who purchase Cobra.
