I have been keeping an eye on cobra for quite a while. I like what i see, even if it doesn't have a huge fan base... yet!

Only thing holding me back from purchasing, apart from being skint, is the .b3d animation issue i read about. Has this been fixed yet?

Thanks  Smiley

Nope, it's still annoying me to be honest.
I have most models animating OK, and a couple that don't. Thing is that I can't actually find the reason for the ones that don't....

I do wonder if it's down to the way that some things export .b3d, which either Mark has a workaround in his code, or I'm just not understanding something Sad

I think you'll probably know once I've fixed it, I'll plaster it all over the site it'll be such an event!!.

It's the first bug which I have to say has remained so stubborn. I think pretty much everything else I manage to fix in a coding session or two, but this one... Grrrrrrr!

What bug exactly are you having a problem with? I have *some* experience with .b3d files. What is happening to the files? Do you need some more models to test? I can knock up a few animated b3d's.

ANY models will be a great help Smiley

I have some of the freely available models (e.g. Psionics) most of which work (if you've seen them, I built the loader mainly using the turtle Wink but a couple of others (a dwarf and a ninja) cause me problems...

I have milkshape so can knock up some simple "animate a few cubes" sort of things, but I would really like other animated models (with working animation code, eg. in blitz) to compare with...

Sometimes it's OK to have an animated model, but without seeing it animate in blitz, you can sometimes think it looks OK, when (for example) an arm is animating in the wrong direction.  I can knock up blitz code, but I don't use blitz any more, so again.. I can get it wrong Smiley

How about you send me the models, and the animation frames, and i'll knock up an .exe with the animation controls and you can compare the results? I have a few models kicking about i can send you too, if it helps.

It's OK, I have the anims, and associated code for the ones I have.
Any new models you have though, I'd really like to see.

Apparently so - here's the announcement, just in case you overlooked it.

Scribbla doesn't have access to the registered forums, but yes it's fixed. I have one model which doesn't animate correctly and I can't see the reason why, but every other one I've tested works correctly (e.g. all the ones from psionics site, plus quite a few others).

For info, the demo is unchanged, it's the release which has the fix.

I'm hoping to get an updated demo going shortly, but I've got some other changes which I'm adding in to allow the demo to show off the true speed of the language, which isn't so obvious with the debugger running all the time.
